Until recently, Vetassess required a minimum of four years’ full time employment in the trade, ‘which can include time spent in training’.
This has now been revised to state that the time spent in training must be work-based, and that Vetassess can only count up to a maximum of 12 months towards the 4 year requirement.
This means that an applicant who has completed a 3 year apprenticeship and has one year post-apprenticeship employment still needs to wait another two years before they meet the 4 year employment requirement.
Obviously this has implications for recently qualified trade applicants who wish to apply to Vetassess.
